FRAZIONE
OF THE COMMUNE OF CASTRIGNANO DEL CAPO
Salignano is
a small village under the administration of Castrignano but it had its own
independence in
the
past. It was ruled by the Castriota Scanderberghs, the Valentinis, the
Caprinicos and the d’Aragonas. The Church of Salignano is dedicated to St Joseph
and was probably built in the 17th century. Salignano has also a
stately tower which is 15m tall and dates to the 16th century.
