OF THE COMMUNE OF GALATINA
Santa Barbara is the third village under the administration
of Galatina. In the past its territory was not very
 large
but it included the Masseria Grande and the Masseria Cicinizzo. The first
feudatory were the Quintavalles, then came the Del Castello, the Zimarra and the
Andrianis. In the historic centre, where nowadays there a nice square, there
used to be sheepfolds and stables. The baronial palace is very interesting and
in the Chapel of St Barbara there is an old painting representing her.
