The small small village
under the administration
of Vanze was probably founded by group of shepherds, that wee attracted by the
 fertile
pastures. In the feudal age it was incorporated into the County of Lecce as the
king Tancredi had ordered. Later it was annexed to the Principality of Taranto
and it was ruled by the Orsini del Balzos. The Maioranos took over until 1806.
In this small centre you can see a Church dedicated to Our Lady of the
Assumption (built in the XVIII century). Inside there are some very interesting
altars and canvasses whose style is pretty simple.
