In the historic centre there are several ‘case a corte’ that are worth visiting. The Marquis Palace was Our Lady of the Assumption's Churchbuilt in the 17th century for the Marescallos. It is not in good conditions because the portal was damaged by the wind and the rain. In the 18th century in the palace there were important paintings attributed to Emanuele Passaby and Serafino Elmo. Outside the urban area, in the middle of a wonderful park there is Villa Mater Domini. This nice building dates to the 18th century and its façade has an elegant portal with a beautiful balcony. The Mother Church is dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and was built in the 16th century. Its façade is very simple with a portal in the middle, two niches with statues of the saints and two smaller portals. The church has a Latin Cross plan, it has a nave and two aisles with some elegant altars and interesting paintings. The Church of St Anthony from Padua is the oldest church of the village because it dates to the end of the 13th century. In the past the church was dedicated to Our Lady of the Annunciation and had a nave with two aisles. The façade has some interesting decorations and the high altar is beautiful. Next to the church there is the stately Watch Tower. The church of St Filomena dates to the 16th century and is very simple. The population is very devoted to Jesus and celebrates him solemnly on the second Sunday of August.

The people of Arnesano have two nicknames: “auni” (lambs) and “mozzica santi” (somebody whoThe High Altar of Our Lady of the Assumption's Church bites a saint = swearers). The first nickname refers to the fact that the people of Arnesano used to breed lambs and, at the same time, they are quiet and peaceful people. The second nickname tells the opposite that is they are great swearers.
